Privacy Policy – FieldTakeoff

1. Information We Collect

FieldTakeoff is designed primarily as a local-first application. Most project information is stored locally on your device unless cloud-related functionality is enabled or used.

Information that may be stored or processed includes:

• Construction project names and metadata
• PDF drawing files selected by the user
• Measurement and calibration data
• Notes and annotations
• Daily reports
• Exported reports
• Photos selected from the user’s device gallery
• Firebase Authentication user identifiers, including anonymous user IDs, when authentication or cloud functionality is used
• Email addresses, when you create an account, sign in, or use password recovery

Email addresses may be used for authentication, account access, password recovery, and related account functionality. Creating an email-based account is not required for core local functionality.

FieldTakeoff may process account identifiers to authenticate users, associate optional cloud functionality with the appropriate account, and associate subscription access or restored purchases with the appropriate FieldTakeoff account.

2. Local Device Storage

Most FieldTakeoff project data is stored locally on your device, including:

• Imported PDFs
• Measurements
• Calibration information
• Reports
• Notes
• Attached photos

Users control the files and projects they create within the app.

Project PDFs, photos, exported reports, and other local files are not automatically uploaded to cloud services as part of normal use.

3. Cloud Services

FieldTakeoff may use Google Firebase services, including:

• Firebase Authentication
• Firebase Firestore
• Firebase Storage
• Firebase App Check

Cloud backup is optional and is turned off by default. When a user enables optional cloud functionality, certain information may be stored through Firebase services, primarily:

• Project and account metadata
• Measurement data
• Report-related data

Project PDFs and photos are not automatically uploaded as part of normal use. Cloud functionality may be optional, limited, or user-initiated.

Local project functionality does not depend on cloud access.

4. Photo and File Access

FieldTakeoff may request access to:

• Photos and media files
• Device file storage

These permissions are used solely for:

• Selecting photos from the device gallery
• Importing PDF files
• Attaching project documentation
• Saving and exporting reports

FieldTakeoff does not use these permissions for advertising or user tracking purposes.

5. Location Information

FieldTakeoff may request foreground location access when using Daily Report weather autofill features.

Location access is:

• Optional
• Foreground-only
• Used solely to retrieve local weather conditions for reports

When this feature is used, latitude and longitude coordinates may be transmitted securely over HTTPS to Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com) solely to retrieve local weather information for a Daily Report. FieldTakeoff does not intentionally send your FieldTakeoff account identifier to Open-Meteo as part of the weather lookup request.

FieldTakeoff does not retain these coordinates, does not upload them to Firebase, does not associate them with your FieldTakeoff account, and does not use location information for advertising or tracking.

6. Subscriptions and Purchases

FieldTakeoff may offer paid subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Payment information such as credit or debit card numbers is processed by the applicable app store and is not provided directly to FieldTakeoff. FieldTakeoff does not directly receive or store your full payment-card number.

FieldTakeoff uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements. RevenueCat may process information such as:

• The purchased subscription product
• Transaction or subscription status
• Renewal and expiration information
• Entitlement or access status
• An account identifier used to associate subscription access with the appropriate FieldTakeoff account

Subscription information is used to provide, restore, and manage paid app functionality and to associate subscription access with the correct account.

FieldTakeoff does not use subscription information for behavioral advertising or cross-app tracking.

7. Feedback Submissions

When you voluntarily submit feedback through FieldTakeoff, the information you provide — such as your feedback message, feedback category, any optional contact information you choose to include, and limited technical or project context associated with the submission — may be processed through Firebase and delivered using Resend so the feedback can be reviewed by Transformers Tech LLC.

Feedback information is used to review and respond to feedback and to improve FieldTakeoff. It is not used for advertising.

8. Data Sharing

FieldTakeoff does not sell personal information or project data.

We do not share project information with third-party advertisers.

Information may be processed by service providers required for app functionality, including:

• Google Firebase (authentication, optional cloud functionality, feedback processing, and app security)
• RevenueCat (subscription and entitlement management)
• Open-Meteo (optional weather lookup when weather autofill features are used)
• Resend (delivery of voluntarily submitted feedback)

These service providers are used to provide app functionality and are not used by FieldTakeoff for behavioral advertising.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect project information and user data.

Data stored locally relies on the security protections of the user’s device and operating system.

FieldTakeoff uses encrypted network connections when communicating with supported cloud and third-party services.

FieldTakeoff currently does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash-reporting SDKs.

10. User Control and Data Deletion

Users may:

• Delete local projects
• Remove exported files
• Control optional cloud functionality where available
• Delete their FieldTakeoff account directly within the app (Menu → Account → Delete account)
• Uninstall the application at any time

Deleting a FieldTakeoff account through the in-app process deletes the cloud-stored account data associated with that account. Local files stored on the device remain local unless removed by the user. Deleting a FieldTakeoff account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription; subscriptions are managed through Apple or Google.

Removing the application from a device does not automatically remove cloud-stored data associated with optional cloud functionality.

11. Children’s Privacy

FieldTakeoff is not directed toward children under 13 years of age.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updated versions will be posted with a revised effective date.
